A bit of history...

While still *very* new to the world of breeding and AKC Conformation shows, I've had Scotties in my life off and on for many years. A few years ago I added a West Highland White Terrier, aka Westie, to the family. Abby inspired me to once again add a Scottish Terrier to the mix, and I found Spencer, a 12 week old wheaten Scottie. My first reaction to his color was, well, reserved!

I had never seen a wheaten Scottie, and of course, my preferred color was BLACK!! (Don't Scotties only come in black?!?) But, I decided to meet this wee chap, and suffice it to say, I was now smitten with both the color, and the puppy. He certainly isn't show quality, but his Scotti-ness is 100%.

So now I had my Westie and my Scottie, and I'm having fun! Due to a job change, I relocated from Wisconsin to California in early 1998. It didn't take long to get hooked on the AKC show scene, and meet some great breeders in the new area. Before moving west I attended the Scottish Terrier Club of Greater Dayton's Spring Specialty, and the seed was planted.  At the Dayton show I met Michele Fujawa, who was showing two of her youngsters, Dragoon Dictator, and Dragoon Spectator. Little did I know that Spec was destined to eventually sire the first litter of puppies at AspenRose!

I began attending events held by the San Francisco Bay Scottish Terrier Club, met the members, and started to learn to groom. In late 1998 I knew of a litter of puppies that was expected, and I immediately contacted the breeder, Elizabeth Wise/Highland Scotties,  to see if I could be on her waiting list. I wanted a Scottie I could show! In February 1999 I brought home Rosie, a beautiful 16 week old wheaten bitch, and the rest, shall they say, is history!

I'm back in Wisconsin, and pretty much out of showing & breeding thanks to that old adage, if it wasn't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all!
